A Nightmare on Elm Street to Gross $40M

Freddy Krueger’s A Nightmare on Elm Street was the No. 1 movie at the North American box office on Friday.

New Line Cinema released their horror remake flick “A Nightmare On Elm Street” this weekend. The movie delivered scary and suspenseful scenes.

According to Box Office Mojo, the horror flick grossed an impressive $15.8M including Thursday midnight screenings. Weekend predictions for the film had been hovering between $30 – $40M.

The movie was directed by Samuel Bayer and stars Academy Award nominee Jackie Earle Haley as Krueger, a rude guy who never does his nail and is always butting into people’s dreams.
