Why is Elmo on Google?

Today, November 8 2009, is Elmo’s turn to be the star in Google’s search page. Google has been featuring Sesame Street characters in line with the show’s 40th anniversary on November 10.

Elmo is a furry red monster with large white eyes and an orange nose. He likes learning, laughing, looking at books, and playing.

Oscar the Grouch is the latest Sesame Street character in the Google’s page.

Google is featuring these Sesame Street characters in line with the long running television show’s 40th anniversary, which will be celebrated on November 10.

“I love Trash”. Sesame Street’s resident Grouch has a green body, has no nose, and lives in a garbage can. He likes collecting junk, rainy days, and arguing. He has two pets, Slimey (a worm) and Fluffy (an elephant).

Through Oscar, children actually learn about respect and tolerance instead of disrespect and intolerance, and they discover that people with different views and lifestyles can still be great friends.

Bert and Ernie from Sesame Street grace today’s google logo. Google has been celebrating the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street this entire week. The Sesame Street’s 40th anniversary is on Nov 10. So, Google will have four more Sesame Street’s characters. Who’s next?

Bert and Ernie are two roommates on the long-running television show. They were built by Don Sahlin from a simple design scribbled by Muppets creator Jim Henson.

Google Dashboard

Google launched a new service, Google Dashboard, that shows summary of the data stored with a Google account, enabling us to monitor and manage google’s array of services.

Google Dashboard shows what data is being stored on Google services. It also provides a summary of the data in these services you use while signed in.

As quoted from Google’s blog, Google Dashboard is a long answer to the question: “What does Google know about me?”.
