Easter is a Christian holiday too, so it just make sense to have its own version of the Christmas Tree.
I started as a dream when Volker Kraft was just a young boy but his childhood dream stuck with him and he decorated his Easter Tree in 1965.
Volker and his wife used colored plastic eggs. Their children also helped with the decorating and soon enough the Easter Tree became a family tradition known in Germany.
The number of Easter eggs hung by the tree’s branches grew every year, and in 2010 it reached an incredible 9,500 eggs.
