According to a new report, people should go vegetarian for at least two days a week in order to dave the planet.

Prominent people and institutions like Sir Paul McCartney, Lord Stern and the United Nations earlier suggested that people may stop eating meat completely in order to prevent climate change.
On the contrary, latest report states that if people cut meat from their diet for just two days a week it will be enough to stop global warming. Eating meat is a problem since cows produce the greenhouse gas methane in large quantities.
The study conducted by Friends of the Earth and Compassion in World Farming declared that sufficient food can be produced to feed the growing population, while not increasing greenhouse gases, if sustainable farming methods are used. The group looked at different diets, farming methods and land use to find out how much carbon dioxide is produced under different models
Consumers can make a difference. According to Clare Oxborrow, senior food campaigner at Friends of the Earth, people could make a difference with small changes to their diet.
