Kelly Fletcher, former Home Counties convent girl, is the new star of a new documentary film charting the history of burlesque.
The film, Burlesque Undressed, opens a new window into a ‘glamorous but hitherto little-xplored world’ and features interviews with showgirls from the 1950s and 1960s.

Fletcher abandoned her job as an advertising director to become a full time showgirl, under the name Immodesty Blaize.
“People often forget its theatrical nature in favour of the titillation. It is a beautiful fantasy to help you forget the fact that the world is a depressing place,” she said.
Burlesque is a theatrical entertainment associated with a variety show which involves elaborate striptease routines.
