Octopuses are highly intelligent. The extent of their intelligence and learning capability is much debated among biologists but maze and problem-solving experiments have shown that they do have both short and long-term memory.
An octopus’s primary defense is to hide. Octopuses have several secondary defenses. Most common is their fast escape and other defenses include the use of ink sacs and camouflage.
